PROJECT: Commercial Office Development

SUMMARY:  This project, won via an HCA sponsored competition,  will bring back into use two historic buildings within the Ancoats Conservation Area, one of them a disused sub-station, the other an abandoned 2 storey cottage, through their conversion into high quality commercial office accommodation. On a prominent corner location, the two existing buildings will be extensively re-modelled and linked together to form one unit, by a new build, double height, glazed reception space on the corner itself. Within, the main office spaces will be open plan, with service areas behind and, at the rear, a small courtyard provides car and cycle parking and a separate staff entrance. Existing arched openings are retained but extended vertically to add a contemporary contrast to the existing visual character and improve the outlook from the principal spaces to the street.

SERVICES: Full architectural services from inception through planning. Triangle are also producing all construction drawings for Armitage Construction.

Prior to the appointment, Triangle first prepared the design drawings which enabled the Client, Armitage Construction, to win the Competition to acquire the site and the opportunity to develop it.
