The approved scheme proposes a new build 91 unit extra-care development of affordable apartments with associated access, car parking and landscaping.

As part of an ongoing partnership between Onward Homes, Homes England and Tameside Council to invest in and work for the community in Hattersley, the approved scheme, designed by Triangle, proposes a new build 91 unit extra-care development of affordable apartments with associated access, car parking and landscaping.

Designed to accommodate a mix of Part M category 2 & 3 1-bed and 2-bed apartments, in addition to commercial uses including a publicly accessible café and dining area, hobby rooms, communal lounge, guest accommodation, hair and beauty facilities, a private garden and courtyard space for residents.

The development will regenerate brownfield land within a complex site and will offer a choice of new housing options in the area aswell as providing a mix of public and private accessible spaces to serve both residents and the local community. Alongside the proposed neighbouring 70-home housing development, the scheme is intended to help encourage the growth of a multi-generational, local community for residents in Hattersley.

Triangle were able to provide their expertise in extra care and affordable development, as well as knowledge and experience in the region, to develop a scheme for the client that meets current and future needs for specialist accommodation, alongside new-build housing and new public space to provide 161 new homes for the greater Hattersley Masterplan.
